Community

Community efforts focus on providing material, social and emotional support for immigrants and refugee families to create a sense of belonging and welcome as they build new lives in our communities.

Our Recent Projects:

Welcome Letter Project
Students write letters welcoming immigrants and refugees to Cincinnati, introducing them to our community and sharing some of their favorite accessible activities around the city.  We have written over 100 letters, and counting!

Welcome Basket Projects
Grants and fundraising activities (like a school bake sale) help us create welcome baskets filled with home care and personal necessities for families new to Cincinnati.  Twelve of our welcome baskets were recently delivered to newly arrived Mauritanian immigrants.

After School and Summer Volunteering
Interested in volunteering?  SAIR connects students with volunteer opportunities to work with immigrant and refugee children, tutoring, supporting existing programs and helping develop English language skills through play and structured activities.
